XSite Foundations can install a POD or Polystyrene Floating Foundation System, depending on your project needs.
For the last 20 years New Zealand has been transitioning to using floating foundations. These systems have become the popular choice for residential and light commercial flooring. Using a concrete floor that sits ‘on’ the ground rather than ‘in’ makes your foundation perform better in seismic events. Your typical system will use an arrangement of polystyrene pods, reinforcing steel, seismic mesh, plastic spacers and a special ready-mix concrete designed specifically for these types of foundations.
